WATERCOLOR WELLNESS

How has is been so long since I posted? Not for lack of work (both the paid and unpaid sort) – but rather lots of projects taking a bit of time to percolate. That said, this identity project is wrapped up and back from the printer – ta-da!

Caroline is a holistic health coach who came to me wanting a soulful, organic, friendly identity for her business – one that veered away from the visual cliches that tend to dominate her space. After some sketching and noodling (see below for some fun stuff that ended up on the cutting room floor), I broke out the watercolors, for what feels more "real" and organic than paint on paper? Add in some hand lettering by yours truly and there you have it. She loves it so much, it's going on her surfboard. What more could I ask for? Happy client, very happy designer.

LIKE NEW SHOES. IN THE PROFESSIONAL SENSE.

I'm so happy (relieved?) to share my shiny new branding and portfolio site. Same URL, new everything else. The logo is a little silly/sweet, but why not? I kept thinking "Our Lady of Paper and Ink". Clearly, my place in hell is reserved. The whole thing was all a labor of love, because everyone knows that when $0 are involved, the client (in this case me) will make revisions until the end of everloving time.

Large thanks to all of my clients, family and friends who pitched in their expertise, thoughts and feedback. Y'all are the best and I'd be designing for 100% no one without you.

PS  //  My kids are entering preschool in a hot minute and I'm going to need some new projects to work through the stress and ALL OF THAT EXTRA TIME OH MY GOD. So feel free send folks in need of some low-stress, high-awesome design work my way. And thank you!

BETTERING AND BETTERING...

I'm so pleased to share my work with Better Ventures – I new sort of venture capital firm "backing entrepreneurs building a better world."

Wes and Rick were dream clients, chock-full of ideas of their own yet open to mine. They wanted a VC firm that didn't look like all of the others, which was right up my alley because what did I know about venture capital? Though some may think VC know-how runs in Bay Area tap water, the answer was not a whole lot.

We came up with something fresh, clean, fun, and evocative of the "blue sky" thinking that they're all about. I'm thrilled with how it all came out and wish them the best of luck as they move up, up, up and to the right!
